Our collaboration bridges the gap between academia and applications by aligning the pace of consultancy of Arup with the depth of research of UCL’s Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) and the University of Zürich (UZH).
We are building a future where practitioners can assess interventions across interconnected systems, rather than in isolation. By breaking down policy silos, we aim to enable truly participatory decision-making informed by rigorous data. Our vision rests on two core missions:
Sustainable & Equitable Environments: We must move beyond traditional transport metrics like journey time savings. Instead, we evaluate success through the lens of desired outcomes—such as reduced carbon emissions, improved affordable housing access, and increased public transport usage. This approach prioritizes the creation of sustainable, shared urban economies.
Human-Centric Modelling: We put the individual at the heart of our analysis. By leveraging cloud computing and agent-based methodologies, we simulate how urban-scale patterns emerge from bottom-up individual behaviors. This allows us to understand the complex, human impact of policy decisions before they are implemented. design:
